    Why Homeschool?

“And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up." - Deuteronomy 6:6-7

    Quote

"...you might not need to purchase a lot of resources designed primarily for educational purposes. You already have a wealth of 'unintentional' learning resources if you simply look for learning opportunities that surround your children in real life." - Cathy Duffy from 100 Top Picks for Homeschool Curriculum

Still on the Fence?

Sometimes taking that first step is the hardest. What roadblocks have kept you from making the decision to educate your children at home? Trust that these roadblocks will be removed. Finally, prayerfully, read on. Hopefully, by addressing some of the common homeschooling issues your roadblocks will become pebbles under your feet!

Cost

Sure, you can spend up to the cost of private school tuition per year in homeschooling expenses. But you can just as easily spend very little.

An expensive curriculum will not guarantee "success." In fact, given that some expensive packaged materials were designed to serve the needs of a classroom and not the individual student, you may find the opposite to be true.

On the other hand, with online access (something you definitely have) and access to a good library, you may find you are more than halfway there. And don't forget to check the used-curriculum boards. Something that didn't work for another family may be exactly what you are looking for!
