As the years go by and schedules are worked and re-worked, materials are considered and re-considered, it is easy to lose focus. Or better said, it is easy to focus on the wrong things. Well this is one of those books to pull off of the shelf every two or three years and re-read for inspiration.
[We] asked our friends to explain what they had come across in their homeschooling that they wished they had known earlier, that "Aha!" moment when their questions and frustrations were resolved. We wanted them to write, for your encouragement, the main message, from their perspective, of how homeschooling can be a place of victory, joy, and accomplishment.

Fifty homeschool veterans - some familiar, some not-so familiar - tell us what they wish they had known before starting their homeschooling adventure, as well as what they discovered along the way. Topics include balance, fun, faith, confidence, commitment, and character. The contributors do not simply share the usual "do's and don'ts" or another version of the "right" way to homeschool. Their focus is on the things that matter, and you'll discover great depth in each account. Things We Wish We'd Known highlights common mistakes and pitfalls in homeschooling - a great gift to those of us who would rather learn from another's mistakes rather than our own. But it also encourages us to keep our focus on the things that matter - a sure path to success!
