    Why Homeschool?

“And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up." - Deuteronomy 6:6-7

Surviving a Curriculum Search

With such a variety of homeschooling materials to choose from, how do you know what will work for you? Find materials to meet your needs.

Consider the Source

Now that you know what you are looking for, where do you find it? These days, there are many retail businesses catering to homeschoolers including your local Christian bookstore. We'll get you started by introducing you to a few of our favorite online retailers.

Homeschool family suppliers. Many families have gone into ministry providing materials to other homeschoolers. In many cases, they carry only quality materials they themselves have used or reviewed. Some of their catalogs read like how-to manuals on educating at home! When we purchase from these businesses we make use of their experience and expertise. You receive not only product - but great service!

    • The Book Peddler
    • Lifetime Books and Gifts
    • Queen Homeschool Supplies
    • Rainbow Resource Center
    • R.O.C.K. Solid Inc.
    • Shekinah Curriculum Cellar
    • The Sycamoretree Inc.
    • Timberdoodle Company

Christian publishers. Some of the publishers that in the past only provided materials to private Christian schools are now catering to the homeschool market. Many now carry a complete line of products developed specifically for homeschoolers.

    • A Beka Book
    • Alpha Omega Publications
    • BJU Press Textbooks and Supplies
    • Christian Light Publications
    • Christian Liberty Press
    • School of Tomorrow

Christian booksellers. Most Christian booksellers carry lines of homeschooling products. Products are often discounted.

    • Books on the Path
    • Christian Book Distributors
    • Grace and Truth Books

Other homeschoolers. Many times we try materials that, although they sounded great when we purchased them, just don't fit our needs. Where do we go? To the used curriculum boards. You'll find "gently used" materials that fit your budget!
